Advanced Request Offering: Change Request Offerings
IMPORTANT NOTE: Installing the Cireson Portal will not automatically install the Advance Request Offering management pack. This is intended to be an additional step as installing the Advance Request Offering management pack will update ALL of your Incident, Change Requests, and Service Request Last Modified dates for each work item in the ServiceManager CMDB. On large data sets this can and will result in performance issues while Service Manager processes the changes across the affected work items. This is a core Service Manager function (limitation) and therefore nothing we can do to alleviate or remedy these effects. Please test the impacts of this management pack prior to deploying into your production environment to ensure your production system can process the changes without impacting the usability of your production system until they have completed.
Installation
Import to the updated version of Advanced Request Offering (ARO) to get the option for a Change Request template when creating an Advanced Request Offering.
The ARO Management Pack file can be found in the 'Management Packs' folder in the location where the Cireson Portal is installed (default C:/inetpub/CiresonPortal)
How to Create a Change Request Offering
To create a change request template based request offering, create an offering using the Cireson Advanced Request Offering Builder and select the “Change Request” option – which was added on the Select Template menu as shown below.
Known SCSM Issue
When selecting an out of the box change request template, you might encounter this exception: "Selected template cannot be used. All activities in the template should have a Child Id property defined."
This is a known SCSM issue and limitation. This is due to the way the activity templates were defined on the out of the box templates.
The workaround on this issue is to open up the template under Library->Templates, then edit and save every single activity attached to the Change Request. Once completed, you can navigate back to ARO and should be able to use the template.
