How To: Customize Dashboard Chart Colors

Dashboard chart widgets are updated with a functionality to customize chart colors. You can now define your own colors on the chart by specifying a color for each series on the chart.

Saved Search Chart

  1. Fill in title
  2. Fill in description
  3. Select a saved search query
  4. Select a group by property. When a property is selected, a new section called “Series Color” will be displayed (as highlighted in red below). This is where you can assign a color to a specific series. Initially, each series are given random colors.

  5. On the Series Color section, clicking on the colopicker dropdown will display all the available colors. Select the desired color by clicking on it.

  6. Select a chart type
  7. Click on Apply to save chart configuration changes

SQL Chart

  1. Fill in title
  2. Fill in description
  3. Select a data source
  4. Select or create a new query
  5. Select a property or column which will correspond to the chart’s series label. When a property is selected, a new section called “Series Color” will be displayed (as highlighted in red below). This is where you can assign a color to a specific series. Initially, each series are given random colors.

  6. On the Series Color section, Select a number property or column which will correspond to the chart’s plotting value
  7. Clicking on the colopicker dropdown will display all the available colors. Select the desired color by clicking on it.

  8. Select a chart type
  9. Click on Apply to save chart configuration changes

 

ODATA Chart

  1. Fill in title
  2. Fill in description
  3. Specify the ODATA endpoint
  4. Choose a collection
  5. Select a property or column which will correspond to the chart’s series label. When a property is selected, a new section called “Series Color” will be displayed (as highlighted in red below). This is where you can assign a color to a specific series. Initially, each series are given random colors.

     

     

  6. Clicking on the colopicker dropdown will display all the available colors. Select the desired color by clicking on it.

  7. Select a chart type
  8. Click on Apply to save chart configuration changes
