How To: Quick/Bulk Edit Work Items

Overview

Edit functionality has been added to the five out-of-the-box work item grids - My Work, Team Work, My Requests, Team Requests, and Active Work.. This feature will allow you to select one or more rows in the grid and edit certain values without having to navigate to each work item form individually. 

How to Edit Work Items in Grid Views

The 'Edit' button will appear on the drawer menu bar when you are viewing a supported bulk edit grid. To edit multiple items you can select them in a few different ways:

  • Click and drag to select groups of items.
  • Press Ctrl + Click to select items one by one.
  • Click an item, then press Shift and click on another item. This will select the two items you clicked as well as all the items in between them.

Support Nodes

Supported Grids:

  • My Requests
  • Team Requests
  • My Work
  • Team Work
  • Active Work

Supported Work Item Types:

  • Incident Requests
  • Service Requests

Other Requirements:

  • Selected items need to be of the same Work Item Type (i.e all Incident Requests or all Service Requests).
  • At least one row needs to be selected in order to enable the edit button.
  • Available editable fields are as follows:
    • Incident Requests:
      • Classification
      • Support Group
      • Impact
      • Urgency
    • Service Requests:
      • Area
      • Priority
      • Support Group

Be mindful not to click the highlight columns (the Icon, Id, and Title columns) that take you to the work item.
