First check if the portal site is accessible on the Service manager main server by opening the portal (in any browser) on the machine where Service Manager resides. If the portal is not accessible from the service manager machine, work with your administrator to set the site to public.
Once portal is accessible from the service manager machine, perform the following steps:
- Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager through the Start menu.
- In IIS Manager, on the left pane, select CiresonPortal, or the site in which houses the Cireson Portal, in the Sites folder.
- In the CiresonPortal Home window, under IIS, select Authentication.
- With the Authentication window open, confirm that the Anonymous Autentication Status is Enabled. If the Status is Disabled, right-click on Anonymous Authentication, and select Enabled.
- Highlight Windows Authentication. In the right pane, select Advanced Settings.

- With the Advanced Settings window open, under the Extended Protection dropdown, select Accept. Click OK.
- Back in the left pane, select Application Pools.
- In the Application Pools window, highlight CiresonPortal, or the site in which is hosing the Cireson Portal.
- On the right pane, under Actions - Application Pool Tasks, select Recycle. This will refresh the IIS site, implementing the previously changed settings.
- In the left pane, under Sites, highlight CiresonPortal, or the site in which is housing the Cireson Portal.
- In the left pane, under Sites, highlight CiresonPortal, or the site in which is housing the Cireson Portal.
- Attempt to promote an existing view within the Cireson Portal.
If Promoting views still doesn't work verify the permissions on the inetpub\Cireson portal folder. The computer\local IUSR user should have Full Control on the CiresonPortal folder:
