Overview
System Center Service Manager (SCSM) allows for an analyst to review Change Requests in Views, and sort or filter by Scheduled Start/End Dates; however, there is not a Change Calendar that allows for you to visualize when all upcoming Change Requests will take place.
The Change Calendar app solves this problem by displaying all upcoming Change Requests in a crisp, easy to navigate Calendar within the SCSM Console.
Please ensure you have a Product Key and the Cireson Licensing installed before installing this app. If you do not have a Product Key for your environment, please request this through our portal request offering. Please read more about Cireson Software Licensing here.
Note: A Product Key is designed for use with a specific environment only. If you require additional Product Keys for use with TEST/DEV/STAGE environments, you can request these through our portal request offering.
Step 1: Install Change Calendar app
The following set of instructions will walk you through how to configure the Change Calendar app.
To install the Change Calendar app, import the provided licensed Management Packs (MP) into SCSM. To complete this installation, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration \ Management Packs
- Select “Import” on the Tasks menu
- Import the provided Management Pack
Step 2: Configure Change Calendar app
After importing the Change Calendar app, you will need to configure the application settings within the Administration section of the SCSM Console. To complete the configuration, perform the following steps:
Navigate to Administration \ Setting
Select “Cireson – Change Calendar Settings” and select “Edit” in the Tasks menu. Populate the following fields within the Administration settings
Default view is weekly - Select to make the default view weekly
Monday is first day of week - Change to adjust Calendar so Monday is first day of the week.
Darken weekends - Dim weekend days for visual awareness
Step 3: Using Change Calendar app
Following the installation of the Change Calendar app, Analysts within SCSM will be able to view the new Change Calendar within the Change Request -- Work Item Area. To initiate the Change Calendar app, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Work Items \ Change Management
- Select “Change Request Calendar” to initiate the Change Calendar

Install Update for Change Calendar app
To install a provided update for the Change Calendar app, you have to import the new licensed Management Pack. To upgrade the Change Calendar app, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration \ Management Packs
- Select “Import” on the Tasks menu
- Import the provided new Management Pack
