Take System Center Service Manager to the next level and visualize your scheduled work items assigned to you with in a calendar view with the Cireson Scheduled Calendar app. Quickly navigate to the Scheduled Calendar view within the Service Manager Console or Outlook Console to see your requests in a monthly or weekly view. Â
Please ensure you have a Product Key and the Cireson Licensing installed before installing this app. If you do not have a Product Key for your environment, please request this through our portal request offering. Please read more about Cireson Software Licensing here.
Note: A Product Key is designed for use with a specific environment only. If you require additional Product Keys for use with TEST/DEV/STAGE environments, you can request these through our portal request offering.
Step 1: Installing the Scheduled Calendar app
To install the Scheduled Calendar app, import the provided licensed Management Packs (MP) into SCSM. To complete this installation, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration/Management Packs
- Select “Import” on the Tasks menu
- Import the provided Management Pack
Step 2: Configure Scheduled Calendar app
After importing the Scheduled Calendar app, you will need to configure the application settings within the Administration section of the SCSM Console. To complete the configuration, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration \ Settings
- Select “Cireson – Scheduled Calendar Settings” and select “Edit” in the Tasks menu. Populate the following fields within the Administration settings:
- Default view is weekly - Select to make the default view weekly
- Monday is first day of week - Change to adjust Calendar so Monday is first day of the week
- Darken weekends - Dim weekend days for visual awareness
Using the Cireson Outlook Console? Enable the Scheduled Calendar app to be visible within the Outlook console by performing the steps below.
- Navigate to Administration \ Setting
- Select “Cireson – Outlook Console Settings” and select “Edit” in the Tasks menu. Populate the following fields within the Administration settings:
- Enable integration with Cireson Calendar apps
Step 3: Using Change Calendar app
Following the installation of the Scheduled Calendar app, Analysts within SCSM Console will be able to view the new Scheduled Calendar by selecting the "Scheduled Work Items Calendar" view or within the Outlook Console by selecting Calendars > Scheduled Calendar from the Ribbon. Initiate within the Service Manager Console:
- Navigate to Work Items/Scheduled Work Items Calendar as shown below:
Initiate within the Outlook Console:
- Navigate to the "Calendar" button on the Home ribbon within Outlook
- Select the drop-down item "Scheduled Calendar"
Install Update for Scheduled Calendar app
To install a provided update for the Scheduled Calendar app, you have to import the new licensed Management Pack. To upgrade the app, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Administration \ Management Packs
- Select “Import” on the Tasks menu
