New Features

  • Service catalog content can now optionally be filtered by the user's language preference.  For more details, please see the Localization and Globalization in Cireson Portal KB article - Service Catalog Content Selected by User's Preferred Language section.
  • Dashboards have been reformatted to display better on various screen resolutions.  These changes include orienting the chart axis labels differently, layout of the charts on the dashboard pages, and limiting the results returned by the queries to a "Top 25" in some charts.
  • Settings can now be set via the SettingsItem UI in the portal.  Go to Admin Settings, scroll to the bottom, click Settings Item button.
  • Enumeration display names will now fall back to the ENU display string if the display name for the user's preferred language does not exist.
  • The service catalog cache and enumeration cache will now be completely resync'd each time the cache builder syncs them.

Supported Upgrade Paths

  • Upgrading from v3.0 Beta, RC1, RC2 is not supported.
  • Upgrading from v1 or v2 is not supported.  Please upgrade from v1 -> v2 -> v3 RTM and then to v3.1 and then to v3.2 and then to v3.3 and then to v3.4 and then to v3.5 and then to v3.6 and then to v3.7.

Important Notes

  • Cireson Portal v3.7 is now available to a few customers initially and will be generally available to all customers in the first half of April.  If you urgently need 3.7, please contact support.
  • Using Integrated Windows Authentication when the Cireson Portal web site is on a different server than the SCSM management server it is connecting to is no longer supported.  The Cireson Portal web site must always be collocated with and connected to a local SCSM management server when using Integrated Windows Authentication. Please see the updated installation guide for details.  If you currently have a standalone Cireson Portal web site with no local SCSM management server and you want to use Integrated Windows Authentication you must either install a Cireson Portal web site on an existing SCSM management server or install a SCSM management server on the server hosting your Cireson Portal web site.  We are sorry for any inconvenience, but it has proven very unreliable to use Kerberson delegation in a multi-hop configuration.
  • On Grid  you will need to click "Reset View" if you see any date/time formatting issues.
  • The issues with end users submitting service requests/incidents from request offering forms based on templates containing review activities w/ reviewers, file attachments, knowledge articles, or relationships to users resulting a 'null' error in the message bar are resolved.

New Features

There is a new settings page where you can edit the settings instead of updating the database.  It is accessible by navigating to Admin Settings and scrolling to the bottom and clicking the Settings Item button.

There is a new option in setup to choose to install using Integrated Windows Authentication.  If you choose to use Windows Integrated Authentication, a SCSM management server must be installed locally.  The choice to install Integrated Windows Authentication (or not and therefore  Forms Authentication will be used) will be preserved each time you run the installer.

Knowledge search results are now ordered by the full text search engine relevance ranking instead of by knowledge article popularity.

New CSS classes have been added to the tag so that you can apply CSS overrides depending on whether or not the logged in user is an analyst, end user, KB manager, asset manager, or administrator.

Important Notes

  • Cireson Portal v3.1 requires Asset Management v7.5.60.26 which can be downloaded from the download center at http://kb.cireson.com/app-store-download/ Password: CiresonApps
  • Any custom string overrides must be redone using the new Localizations UI in the portal.  Details below.
  • After installing give the Cache Builder a few minutes to run and update the data in ServiceManagement.

  • Invoices for asset management (Create new, view, edit)
  • Localization management platform - this will enable translation partners to easily provides translation updates on a continual basis to keep up with the commitment to Continuous Innovation and Delivery.  All translations will be merged into sprint releases starting with v3.2.  Details will be sent to localization partners.  A new 'Context' attribute has been created to provide context to people that are localizing strings.
  • All strings have been moved to the ServiceManagement database and are no longer stored in the /Strings directory in files.  Overrides can be made in the portal now.  See How to Override a Localization.  Note: All previously created string overrides must be recreated using the new UI in the portal.
